Marie Cimaglia, ed.d, Assistant superintendent of human resources

In 2015, when the previous head of Human Resources retired after 27 years, the District found a successor in Dr. Marie Cimaglia. Dr. Cimaglia brings a wealth of experience to the position after over a decade as a teacher and assistant principal in Oak Lawn and Berwyn, and 12 years as principal of Marquardt Middle School.  In addition to the administrative responsibilities of hiring, retaining, and managing District talent, the role of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources has expanded to better support the needs of District staff and students. Most recently, Dr. Cimaglia has organized a Loan Forgiveness Workshop (on Wednesday, February 3rd at 3:30 pm and again at 4:30 pm) in an effort to help relieve staff members of student debt.  Dr. Cimaglia is working to develop systems and processes that address the strategic needs and cultivate the culture of the school system. This comprehensive approach to Human Resources means having a pulse on teacher evaluations and PERA and working to facilitate clear communication between the schools and District.
